USS SMITH DD-17 WORLD WAR I WEAPONS UPDATE SET

Nautilus has used 3D printed items in the past for several projects, but this is our first 3D printed product for sale. 

The Chuan Yu 1/200 USS Smith Destroyer (or Torpedo Boat Destroyer, as it was called then) is a nice kit, but it is designed for radio controlled operation. As such, the small parts have to be designed to be more rugged than one would want on a display model. This set adds the missing detail and updates the kit to the World War One kit adopted in 1916.

The Weapons Set provides the modeler with:

4 twin torpedo tube mounts (3 are needed), 6 Mk7mod1 3"/50 gun mounts (5 are needed), and 4 anchors (2 are needed). The extra parts are given to provide a buffer in case the modeler ruins one snipping it off the parts tree it was grown on. We recommend a Xuron photoetch cutter (or similar) and its careful use beginning the cuts at the build platform at the far end of the supports.
