ESSEX CLASS WOOD REPLACEMENT DECKS

USS ESSEX CV-9 

This deck is only for the Essex in the first six months of her career. The Essex was completed without a catapult, and a shorter and less powerful  H2 catapult (as used on the Yorktown class) was installed at Pearl Harbor as an interim measure until the designated catapult, the H4, could overcome development problems and be installed.

This deck is suitable for USS Essex from Mar43-Apr44
